The 172nd edition of the Golden Demon took place on the 23rd March 2022 - 27th March 2022, at the The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, in Chicago, USA, North America. This marked the 1st Golden Demon held in North America during the independent events era.

Artists from around the globe gathered at the The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, all competing for the prestigious Golden Demon award, aiming to etch their names into history. 25 painters emerged victorious across the 13 categories. Of these painters 14 returned to claim another Demon and 11 claimed their first!
